The Action Took Only 40 Minutes Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

The Action Took Only 40 Minutes

The same act and the same spot,
The same love and the same kiss;
But the action took only 40 minutes!
With touching words and horrible facts,
And like a Heavy-Duty-Land-Cruiser!

Light, night, right, bright, height, might, fright, plight!
But the water for the elephant wasn't enough;
And like the last flower in the land of war! !
Dip, hip, nip, lip, gip, quip, sip, tip, zip, yip;
And like the last flowers in the land of roses,
But the action took only 40 minutes!
And he was dead and gone too soon.
