The Agony Of My Love Poem by Brian Gerber

The Agony Of My Love

Rating: 5.0

I almost forgot your face, your smile
Still your presence is more vivid than ever
I have tried not to think of you for more than a while
No matter how I try to forget I could never

Your laugher, like a bubbling spring
Deafens me with unbearable pain
The softness and beauty of your beautiful skin
How I long for your touch, but it drives me insane

You left me behind, torn apart
Your body to dust, my agony still
The memory of you ran away with my heart
And only my tears this will gap fill

Please leave me alone and be gone from my mind
Just leave me in the solitude of my devastation
My passion for you can't be defined
But I'm broken and bleeding pursuing evasion

Be gone from me, my love, I plead
With little life left, I have no strength for fighting
Just leave me in peace with your memory freed
So I die in peace for our reuniting

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Everytime I read this poem, it saddens me deeply in the thought that a love so deep can never fade; the hurt remains so raw. I do admire the honesty. It makes me realize how precious life is.
