The Alpha Poem by Weldon Davis

The Alpha

He sees death and beauty
In everything
And to glimpse and glare
At his soul
Is healthy and hurtful

He opens doors
Smiles- says
Yes maam and Yes sir
Is courteous and walks
With regality, confidence, and pride

Emulators a plenty
And he knows
Imitation is the biggest form of
Flattery

Yet in the same breath
He also knows flattery is for
Lickspittles and fools

He lives by his own standards
Most important
The golden rule

So he smiles, listens,
And attempts to be
The man
He wishes everyone on Earth
Could be
