The Angel Bird Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

The Angel Bird

The bird was singing
From an unknown world
I searched in vain
In the green thick leaves
That packed the tall trees.

The bird saw me seeking
With my eyes desperately
Agape to sight the source
Of the angel bird
That arrived from heavens
To bless love and peace
To souls that seek
The blessings of angels
Whose presence not sensed
By the five senses of men!
My hope and enthusiasm
Was drained as if
The dry river bed
As the bird's music
Became thinner
And diminished to nullity!
I lost the love permeating
To me that brought by the bird
And my heart was beating
Wildly and insurmountable
By emotions tained with fear
As the howling of dogs leapt
On me as if the devils
Were exorcised
By the Lucifer
From the spell-bound moments
That haunt me
And I lost totally
As the angel bird vanished
And I craved for
Her vision and music
In absolute vain!
