The Battle Poem by Chris Seng

The Battle

In a gusting wind of hope
I feel myself start to choke
The ladder of life, I'm always climbing
always losing, never finding
A stable solution, a stable mind
this battle is lost, so nevermind
Can't seem to come out of this slump
The guy on the building, Watch out! I'll jump
Life is a battle, a purgatory state
a chance, I guess, to clean your slate
For when it is all over, and when it is done
you know it is coming, you can't run
The aftermath of this life, as we know it
your soul belongs to whomever, you sold it
If you believe in saints and sinners
you better take note, cause life is wearing thinner
This battle of good and evil, this battle of life, in a nutshell
will ultimately decide your fate, be it Heaven or Hell!
