The Battle With Myself Poem by Belle Bard

The Battle With Myself

I got stuck with the thoughts that'd never leave me
I was entangled by the bitter truth that never stopped hurting me
I burn each day with a single thought on my mind
Sorting each one out in the long line
Reaching out for someone-to rescue me, just seems so hopeless
Since I don't expect anything anymore from anyone's kindness

In this bogus world around me are thousands of stars
Each of whom gave me hundreds of scars
Mercy, grace, nor blessings shower on me
'Cause an unwanted, unknown holds the umbrella above me

Lost in my own world, I never came to know
When I reached the crossroad, undecided where to go
Abstract and heavy thoughts filling my head,
The only reason I stood there-I found it was with me
Treasured in the chests and chained tightly
Kept hidden behind the closed doors of my heart

Still in an attempt to find myself
The battle continues as I fight with myself
No last wish or memory I want
Just want to find the peace long lost...
