The Beauty Of A Horse Poem by Connie Lea Baver

The Beauty Of A Horse

Have you ever truly looked at the beauty of a horse
The way their hooves touch the earth with so much force
The light in their eyes when they are young and free
Not so very different from you or from me
We all start our lives with a clean slate
We choose our own paths that determine our fate
Days quickly turn to months and months to years
But sometimes the light in our eyes is replaced by tears
Caused by unkept promises and unfulfilled dreams
We find ourselves wondering what life really means
Maybe if we were more like horses we would truly know
The importance of never losing that special glow
And never giving up the fight to keep our spirits free
Exactly the way God intended for horses to be
