The Beauty Of Women Poem by Brigette Thorn

The Beauty Of Women

There is a certain beauty
that every woman holds
It shows itself in different ways
a truth it does behold

about the way we think and feel
and how we spend our days
it shows the way we live our lives
it shows our inner ways

then why is it that we can't help
but critisize its form
To treat it with such loveless eyes
To hinder it with gorm

We seem to have a funny way
of looking at our beauty
I think it's time to turn the tides
I think we have a duty

To learn to love the skin we're in
and let it take us through
into a life of sheer delight
created just by you

I've dressed a thousand women
and from each one I have learned
that if you keep your head held high
A good life you will earn

For each of us have many things
that catch anothers eye
we're all a part of nature's zoo
so there's no need to cry…

about the fact you hate your hair
or maybe it's your nose
or maybe it's your knocking knees
or maybe it's your toes

or maybe it's because your fat
perhaps you are too thin?
perhaps your eye's aren't blue enough
perhaps a double chin?

I think a moment here and there
of hardened self asses
is good for every woman's soul
It helps us do our best

A moment it should only be
or it may cause alarm
there's more to life than how we look
our beauty is our charm

So go out in the sunshine
with a nice warm cup of tea
and revel in your own delight
and let your soul be free
