The Bee Poem by Abednego Oghenechovwiere Omashone

The Bee

When I look around me, I see
say nobody wan ask how e be?
So, I go busy myself like bee:
only me, I go make my honey,
cos no one wan give me money.
'Shuo, guy, ' dem go tell me,
'na so you funny? '

If I look now like dundy,
I go old like donkey,
chimps self go call me 'monkey',
no one go call me 'lovey',
because dem go say I worse pass zombie.

So, I no go vex if you call me BUSY BEE,
'cos, tomorrow, you go beg for my BB PIN.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this piece 25th of Dec 2012. The inspiration came when in retrospection, I see how my live-long days have been so jamb packed with activities. No time for myself, always BUSY. People use to tell me 'ha, guy, dem no dey meet you for house? ' only my close friends really know why I'm so busy all day. I've looked around me, and have seen why my days have been so BUSY. 'No one wan ask me 'how e be? '
I felt the the rhyme and the rhythm wen I told myself, 'and so, I'll busy myself like the BUSY BEE.' Yes, though none has told me to my face that I'm a BUSY BEE, I've got the clear message from some who see not beyond their noses. Who are in their fathers' shoulder and mothers' back, who know not how far the journey is. Before they should tell me that, I felt it's important as well to remind them that some day, they'll all beg for the BUSY BEE's BB PIN...
