The Best and Worst of Me

you've seen me
at my worst
and still you love me

maybe you love me
in spite of myself
knowing my faults
and how I wish
I didn't own them

but it's all relative
considering
you've also seen me
at my very best
and still you love me

you seem to know
it's the reflection
I see in your eyes
that compels me
to rise above
like cream
and be my best
more often

it's that
and everything

you know me
and love me

I love you
all the more
for that
