The Bitter Release Of A Showcase Poem by Joshua Mccoy

The Bitter Release Of A Showcase

This hand that holds my heart has been my friend through thick and thin,
Escorted me through the gates of hell and back again.
The only hand I can truly say,
has ever loved me unconditionally.
I would give my life to this sweet hand if I could for the year and two months of bliss but alas, this hand has offered me a chance to repay such kindness, and I must now heartlessly decline in self inflicted greed.

To light the dance floor with our love, to blind the world for one night only is all this beautiful hand honorably asks for and yet I must turn away with a heavy heart to the request because of the desired day the magical night falls upon.
If only
If only…
A rare,
Once in a lifetime opportunity
Struck the ground twice like a bolt of lightning.

My heart has a dream that will come true the same night her happiness would reach its peak except the two interests are a thousand miles apart. What I love and live for, is gathered into one spot for a three day vacation with fellow otaku just like me
But…
Sacrifice would make her happy
But…
The cost is my heart in eternal sorrow
But…
Do I deserve to be happy at the cost of another?
But…
I cry for the desire to be happy
So…
Why does it hurt so much to decide? ! ?
And…
How will it all end when
I…
I…
I…
…say my final goodbye
As I leave…

Somewhere in the world
A torn heart…
Weeps.
