The Bitterness Of Sweet Poem by Redem Macabenta

The Bitterness Of Sweet

Rating: 4.5

O sweet, as your bottle drops
My heart turned in pops!
For the taste of your sweet
Was no more than tweet

O sadness, I am being blurt
As I clean the floor of hurt
My joy was not dignified
Let my agony be minimized

O Lord, how sweet is the honey
Yet it was paid by money
As this sorrow boost to calamity
You will redeem me of this vanity

O grace, then I am being redeemed
As that day was like a dream
You have returned my sweet using a friend
And I was truly stunned of Your graces never end

O joy, my bitterness then returned to sweetness
Like the bees cleaning the flower's barrenness
How can I thank You Lord?
And how can I thank the one who afford?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The first three stanzas were written while I was still in Camotes Island. It was where the honey I bought fell down to the floor and was crashed! Then the last two stanzas were then written when a changing event happened when I came back to Cebu City.

I like the title of the poem and its rhyme scheme. A love piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely penned. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
