The Black Sky With A Bright Sun Poem by Akash Dey

Everyday I looked outside to see,
The sky as black as it could be,
Everywhere I walked it was black,
But what could I do but follow this track,
With no sense of direction I continued to walk,
Hoping that some kind of path would unlock,
With the darkness around me there was nowhere to run,
The only choice I had was to overcome,
I took a deep look inside of me,
Somewhere amidst the darkness was a key,
To find it is the most challenging part,
But among the darkness theres always your heart,
I was swallowed by the blackest of flames,
And I continued to walk with an empty frame,
Despite the darkness theres always some light,
Coming to realize this was the hardest fight,
Facing myself was a challenge amongst all,
Walking forward past the darkest of walls,
And past that wall I saw the sun,
That is when I knew my journey had begun,
I wanted to run, I couldn’t believe,
That in my life there was a light that wouldn’t deceive,
But I’m blessed to see even such a light,
Amongst all the darkness and the plight.
It is the light that gives me my hope,
Ill keep walking forward no matter how steep of a slope.
