The Book Of Bob Poem by bob eichen

The Book Of Bob

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Bob.
Bob loved God and feared God and tried not to sin.
One day, God told Satan, consider my servant Bob. Bob loves me.
Then Satan said, God, let me take a whack at him.
So God agreed.
The next day, Satan sent a mighty storm that killed all Bob's cattle, oxen, horses, sheep and foul.
He sent a plague which killed Bob's seven sons and three daughters.
Satan drove Bob's wife into the arms of a circus clown.
Satan burned Bob's home and barn and fields and Bob lost all his possessions.
Satan sent disease unto Bob afflicting him with boils, hemorrhoids, constipation and joint pain.
All Bob's friends thought Bob had sinned, so that God must be punishing him. They turned their backs to Bob.
They told Bob to curse God and die.
Bob called upon God for help,
But God answered not, his prayers.
So Bob cursed God and died.
And Satan laughed.
And God spoketh, saying,
Gee,
I guess I should have seen that coming!
But Satan, have you considered my servant Job...
