I once knew a boy from far far away
A place I'd never been
He lived a life so far removed from mine
It was a life I'd never seen

He brought with him the freshness of flowers
A glowing wonder at everyday things
His eyes showed the kind of love
Of which I could only dream

His smile went from ear to ear
And made my lil heart jump
But the world I knew could never accept
That love & happiness were enough

I saw the light go out from those big wide eyes
when I said goodbye & turned to leave
I once knew a boy from far far away
A place now too dark to see
