The Boys And Girls I Grew Up With Poem by Francis Duggan

The Boys And Girls I Grew Up With

It was innocent games with them I did play
The boys and girls I grew up with where are they today
I often do wonder where they might be
Many years have passed since them I did see

Some of them are not of the living today
Where deceased people are at peace they do lay
And some near where they were born and raised choose for to stay
We all live our lives in a different way.

Like most people in our childhood years we were innocent then
But children do grow into women and men
And childhood innocence when lost can never again be regained
Such a thing of beauty into adulthood is not retained

The boys and girls I grew up with where are they today
Some of them are ageing in Lands far away
On looking back the years time did go so fast
And like me all they have left are memories of the past.
