The Champion’s Mindset Poem by Dave Dafes

The Champion’s Mindset

The champ in every ill,
Perceive the highest good,
To him all things subserve the bestest ends;
None comes as ill though others may think it so,
But wisdom’s Wings to all evil brood lends,

The hideous sorrow shrouds a star,
Every dark cloud gilt a silver girdle,
That waits to sparkle with gladsome shine;
Hell on heaven’s graces wait;
As night does the golden dawn,

Challenges are steps, by which we climb,
With purer aim to nobler ends;
Loss passageway leads to gain,
Joyfulness on the footsteps of joylessness presage,
Every pain leads to paths of holy bliss,
To thoughts and words and deeds divine,

Every gloomy cloud is bloated with blissful tidings,
Only if thou can it discern,
The heavy veil of doubts and fears
That clouds our ways,
To the paths of all hopes it leads,
All glory and all good abound in all our every ills.

Nothing in the universe last forever,
The day breaketh when thy troubles shall cease,
As springtime proceeds the freezing winter,
So shall the summer of peace overtake thy suffering.
