The Choices We Make Poem by Kiki Marie

The Choices We Make

Rating: 4.5

She uses her knife where no one can see,
But she only told this action to me.
She says it's the only way to get frustrations out.
&& her existance is what she's begining to doubt.

She's not sure how much more she can take.
Who she is, is completely fake.
She doesn't understand why she's so upset.
But, I told her not to fret.

I said, 'I'll aslways be here for you.'
But she said, ' I don't know what to think or do.'
I told her she can cry on my shoulder.
&& that I will always be here & love her.

This is when she completely broke down,
So I let her cry && didn't make a sound.
I told her when she's ready i'm here.
&& i even shed a good size tear.

She's fighting herself all alone,
because of it she usually just sobs, and moans.
She's dealing with so much at one time,
too much going on && it's attacking her mind.

She is drifting further and further away,
&& I don't know how to get her to stay.
How i can help her fight, if she doesn't reach for help?
'WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME? ' she yelps.

I'm not exactly sure how to answer.
So I just pull her close and hug her.
It's been a coulple of weeks.
&& she's still sad and rather meak.

She told me she no longer feels the pain,
because all the drugs numbed her brain.
I told her that she should be careful.
Her response, 'These are better tools.'

When she said this, I couldn't keep her secret.
Even though I promised i would keep it.
But i was already a little too late,
My best friend determined her own fate.
