The Clock On Our Lives Poem by Francis Duggan

The Clock On Our Lives

The clock on our lives it keeps ticking away
And even the baby that is born today
Already on his or her way to their use by date
It is very true that time on none does wait.

The clock on our lives it keeps ticking too fast
And each yesterday forever in the past
We have learned from life before we learned how to crawl
And the Reaper who claims life claims the life of all.

The clock on our lives it ticks on day and night
It ticks from the dawn till the day's fading light
In the darkness of night it ticks on and on
And yesterday to the past forever has gone.

Until to the light of day we will never more wake
The clock it ticks on till life's last breath we take
It ticks on for you as well as for i
And it keeps on ticking till the moment we die.
