The Colour Of Dawn Poem by Pablo Thorne

The Colour Of Dawn

Waking up,
To sounds of twitter.
Wind chimes sing,
Dewdrops glitter.

Outside my window,
Leaves are green.
Flowers falling,
As white as cream.

Squirrels chitter,
Badgers grunt.
The neighbour's cat
Is on a hunt.

Foxes prance,
As proud as lords.
Magpies guard,
Their shining hordes.

The colour of Dawn,
A metaphor.
A treasure to us all,
Rich and poor.
