There was a powerful and mighty king,
Nannan was his name, he was offering
Without any indifference lots of gifts
To the musicians and various poets!
The king had beautiful flourishing orchards,
Lots of mangoes grown and hanging in odds,
One mango dropped into adjacent flowing river,
A youthful girl came for bathing in the same river!
She collected the sweet mango enthusiastically,
Ate it, without knowing its owner, very happily,
The king came to know and got very angry,
And ordered capital punishment to her hastily!
The rich father of the girl tried to compromise
By offering the number of elephants eighty one,
And offering a golden statue equal to her weight - but
The cruel king murdered the girl mercilessly straight!
