The Cure Poem by Willard Mapfumo

The Cure

Rating: 5.0

You have insinuated fundamental cultural changes
You have created a better society
You have enhanced individual liberty,
And improved global harmony. But are you the cure?

Yes, you have liberated us from constraints of place.
You have become the market place of ideas
Thus, transforming the education sector.
You have redistributed power of information dissemination.
But can you cure all social ills?

From all corners of the world people bow before you,
For you have placed unprecedented power and control
In the hands of your masters.
Freeing them from the chains of their old master.
A master who was an agenda setter
But are you the cure for social ills?

Fascinating commentary on the drastically increasing role of technology in the world. You make a very good point that technology often treats the symptoms but NOT the underlying cause of discontent. A timely and well-phrased reminder. Thank you for sharing!
