The Curiosity A Gemini Truly Missed Emmits Poem by Matt Western

The Curiosity A Gemini Truly Missed Emmits

Luring for an odyssey with you again
Frozen like dew drops on a sycamore leaf
Are the many myriads of memories we attained
Rudimentary those inklings so brief

That fill me with images hard to bear
So elegant you were despite your frivolous cares

Ingenious in reciting the compromise
To leave behind the past and my heart realign

No relief we felt in the art and craft
Of the design as a partnership not well refined

Too brief were those romantic sparks
That gave way to true initiative so as to depart

From the falsities of a prude incensed march
To tenderly holster the helm and grasp

End the traits of dependency that tore our souls
To escape and paint on a blank screen
Vistas of love and practicality
To resist the ever present engulfing need
And pretend the force out of our control
Would feint the jilted contours cold
In directing the fate of discourse and gain a hold
Be still in each others sureness and the future mould

Make subtle offerings to the divine and token our romance
Light candles, incense, cement the spells, progress and advance

For I felt we truly found a power and higher destiny
To fast forward our lives perhaps and peer into futures animosity

Rest assured I had to be glad of your nature
Sacred in upholding emotional principalities greater
To create a place to taper the
Strife of our adversities
Where we could give shape to serve the
Newfound purpose and prolong longevity

Surface on high skies and rise like dawn light
And continue this unwritten tale in pursuit of new heights
