The Curtains Poem by Kelsey Martinson

The Curtains

Billow in the breeze
Floating
Oh so sweetly
I feel bitter
The curtains are free
And I am not
It's just not fair
I stare
Glaring at the cursed curtains
As they taunt me
With their freedom
But watching it
I realize...
They are not free
The breeze tugs at it
The rings hold it to the wall
Like bars
Restraining once free arms
Like me
The curtains are trapped
