The Cut Still Bleeds... Poem by kaydra townsend

The Cut Still Bleeds...

The chill as it touched my arm
The burn as it cut my skin
The ice sliding though flesh
The blood pouring from within

And no matter what I do,
The cut still bleeds...

The blood dripping from the wound
The droplets bursting on the ground
My mind in a state of ruin
As fate upon me frowns

And no matter what I do
The cut still bleeds…

I think I pushed to hard
I think I cut to deep
I think I went to far
Even now the blood still seeps

And no matter what I try,
The cut still bleeds…

You came and bound my wound
You covered up my arm
You washed away the blood
You shielded me from harm

But no matter what you try,
The cut still bleeds…

No longer do I cut
No longer do I have need
The wound is closing up
But through the scar I bleed

And no matter what we try,
The cut still bleeds…

I’m happy now with you
And the pain has gone away
Forever in your arms
Yet forever the scar will stay

And no matter how I’ve healed,
The cut still bleeds…
