The Dawning Of Summer Poem by Mustafa Marconi

The Dawning Of Summer

Summer is dawning
I can hear the burst of spring
The stars shine brightly in the sky
The unemployed are much too high
The quiet looms, the city rest
The winds now blow from east to west
Plainclothes and uniformed are on patrol
As crime in the city continues to grow
Jewels that please the eyes to see
Everyman will crave for thee
With or without opportunities
Everyman will strive to be
Shall we teach the little birds
Of the schools of death and life
Shall we enlighten our feathered friends
To what is wrong and what is right?
Necessity dictates what is right in these streets
The winds now blow from west to east
Jewels that please the eyes to see
Everyman will pray to thee
Summer is dawning
I can hear the burst of spring
The stars shine brightly in the sky
The unemployed are much too high
