The Day

An annual day of my life.
I always wait for it
the whole year long.
Like it never happened before.
I like it more as I grow.
'You will like this''You will like that'
my mother would say.
I am so happy on this day.
The next day at school
I would say,
'Hey, guess what,
Yesterday was my birthday! '
