The Day After You Poem by Jasmine Thompson

The Day After You

We lay to rest
Not one heart
But seven

Two brothers, two lovers
Two mothers and a father
Is what it took
To change Creon's order

Now buried and gone
Taken to the gods
Yet never forgotten

Seven heroes
In different ways
Some how managed to change Creon's ways

So as you're covered with dirt
And given back to mother earth
This kingdom no longer hurts

The day after you
Your kingdom stood tall
Moments before the Spartans killed them all.
