The Day Before The Day Of Days Poem by Nella Walker

The Day Before The Day Of Days

Tomorrow will appear less than 24 hours from now,
I will age another year,
It is inevitable,
It creeps up on you silently through the year and suddenly the day has come,
So, what do I think about on the day before the day of days?
Do I reflect, do I have repent or do I weep?
I sit-down, open myself to the moment and acknowledge the time and space I`m finding myself in,
Realising that this moment is unique and precious, it will never occur again,
Identifying that I am a work in progress and time is a strength which will ensure my complete metamorphoses,
For I am created to be only one thing on earth!
The best of me!
And to that I will toast my birthday, surrounded by the ones I love and who loves me,
That is enough of a gift to keep me grounded and humble to each breath I take and each birthday cake a face.
