The Day You Were Born Poem by JoAnn McGrath

The Day You Were Born

The day you were born
and you took your first breath
I bet the skies were blue
And God's arms were outstretched

The day you were born
I bet the flowers were brighter
and the scent of each one was
carried on a breeze that was lighter

The day you were born
I bet the fairies danced
and the angels in heaven rejoiced too
When they took their first glance

The day you were born
Don't you know this was all true
because with every birth
God is there with you

Hope someone was there because on the day I was born think it was just the Dr. making arrangements with his friend another Dr. to adopt me....I always think of the day I was born as the day I was given away.....I like your version of our birth much, much better...love, marci.

It's too bad one can't post truth about their own adoption here!

JoAnn, this a wonderful poem that brought tears to my eyes, but you'll never know the reason why, because I'm not telling on this one. Just to say it is a wonderful poem that was written right from the heart. Thanks for sharing it my friend. David
