The Death Poem by Abidur Rahman

The Death

In that night,
When the moon was new,
Waiting to see a landscape view,
But there was no light.
I was standing beside the window,
Expecting for someone,
Because I was alone,
I saw a dark shadow.
Slowly She came closer,
Keeping her hand on my chest,
She did which task She could do best,
She gave me much pleasure.
I could feel her breath,
I could see her face,
It was the last day of my life race,
Even I had to leave the earth.
That was my last breath,
Spontaneously my soul came out,
My body remains blank,
Then everything to me became frank,
She was no one but death.
Now I am hearing a bell,
That is from the horizon,
Is there any person
Who can tell me, Whether I’m calling from heaven or hell!
