The Declaration Of Inter-Dependence Poem by Edward Iacona

The Declaration Of Inter-Dependence

THE DECLARATION OF INTER-DEPENDENCE

On February 14th of every year
There's an international love fest.
And across our little planet
Millions of lovers will get stressed.

It's Valentine's Day again when
One's sweet feelings are expressed
And, the strength of a relationship
Will be put to a material test.

To help demonstrate deep emotions
There's all sorts of things to buy
From cards, candy and stuffed toys
Or a cute emoji that one can try.

The words, "I love you", are over used.
Sad to say, for those romantically leaning.
For this phrase has become cliché
And has lost most of its true meaning.

So, I offer these true and honest words
Not knowing how they may strike you.
You should know that with all my heart and soul
That I truly treasure and really like you!
