The Depression Poem by Erlan Worth

The Depression

Rating: 4.5

People are begging
Banks are crashing
The depression has come
The rich are poor
The poor are more poor
The crime has just begun
Don't trust Capone
He's not alone
Here comes the Suicidal rate
Homes are gone
Starvation is painful
WWII, where are you?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The Great Depression which reared its ugly head in 1920s and 1930s well depicted in the poem. I like the articulation and penning of the piece. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
