The Devastation..... Poem by RIC BASTASA

something happened
and it was devastating,

the trauma is deep and
painful,

and then you run, as though
you are running for your
life,

passing houses, crossing streets
and bypassing faces of people,

you do not care anymore who
they are, what they are, and
where you are going..... and

it is this, like a bicycle,
to keep the balance, if there
is still this balance,
you simply have to keep on
running....

as fast as you can, away from
death, or even life, whatever
that is.....
