from "While Passing Through"/Summer
Summer morning.
The dew that stained my shoes
from the deep-piled grass—
no sign of it now—so soon—
no sign of it now at all.
A dew drop easily evaporates with sunlight! If it had stayed longer, morning walks would have been made tedious! Transience is the irreversible feature of all worldly things, big or small! But to identify the dew on the blade of grass, one should have a poet's eyes!
" Transience is the irreversible feature of all worldly things" —how eloquently put, valsa. but that doesn't stop us from wanting to hold on if only to live in the afterglow of beauty. thank you once again for a perceptive comment, and may beauty be yours every day. -glen

'Ephemeral is the irreversible feature of all worldly things' is the theme of this poem which is well delineated by you dear sir. This is really a beautiful and meaningful poem amazingly shared. Thank for sharing,10
glad to share, kumarmani. and thank you for your kind comment. we can and sometimes do lament the ephemeral nature of things, yet i wonder if we'd treasure them as much if they didn't pass so quickly. that we have tasted gives hope that we may taste again, yes? -glen
