The Divine Drug Poem by Arun Maji

The Divine Drug

Rating: 5.0

Life is painful.
Severely painful, painfully painful.
And it would always be like that
No matter what.
Human may conquer Mars, Jupiter
Or even thousands of distant galaxies;
But life would remain as painful as it is today
If not more.

With every tick of clock
More and more pains grow in our hearts.
Human is cursed with eternal damnation
Called human memory and intelligence.
It is because of human memory and intelligence
Human suffers.
No memory or intelligence, no human pain.

When shadow is so certain
How do you paint rainbow in life?
Drunkenness.
Yes, o dear friends
Drunkenness is the only remedy to human pain.
You must be drowned in drunkenness
To hide yourself from cruelty of earthly suffering.
Art poetry sports philosophy or science
Whatever that drug is
You must be drowned in it.
And if ever you wake up to reality
Drink again one more sip
And go back to drunkenness.
