The Dragon, The Illusionist, And The Spider Ft. The Backless Chair Poem by Justin Tallman

The Dragon, The Illusionist, And The Spider Ft. The Backless Chair

I have thoughts
described as words
that hurt my lungs
when said

Like breathing fire
Light the room
with orange and red

Who knew
that honesty
would betray me
like this?

A lesson learned
but skeptically refused
like simple
magic tricks

Now I spin
webs across my
mind

Stretched so far
Conclusions
are hard to find

When the
'Day to day'
become
'Rinse and repeat'

You'll find me
in a backless chair:
The uncomfortable seat.
