The Dragonfly Poem by Stephen Brian Brady

The Dragonfly

The dragonfly
just don't try
he came
but that's just a word
inadequate absurd

A space had been reserved
in clear air just above the pool

Maybe time was reluctant
as he took it by the hand
to understand

Nearby
where lay thousands of jellyfish
partially covered by sand
under the same starsign

And there were hoofprints
and items of litter
at the western edge of this our England
