The Dream Poem by Lacey Saulisbury

The Dream

The Dream of me, being with him.
The Dream of his touch to my skin.
The Dream of him holding my kin.
But no, the dream is wearing thin.

The Dream of him holding me tight.
The Dream of him saying goodnight.
The Dream of him willing to fight.
It seem I've forgotten, The Dream fades light.

The Dream of us being insane.
The Dream of us, playing our games.
The Dream of him knowing my name.
But now, The Dream has turned to shame...

The Dream of us sharing the news.
The Dream of us, mixing our shoes.
The Dream of knowing what to do.
The Dream, was too good to be true.

The Dream of looking in his eyes.
The Dream of tying up his ties.
The Dream of fearing no such lies.
Everything settles, as The Dream dies.

The Dream of Dreaming till' the end.
The Dream of knowing one true friend.
The Dream of my heart, ready to mend.
The Dreams are over... they no longer attend
