The Eternal Song - Poem by R.Benjamin Abate

The Original Soul was a Scientist

Experimenting with Music

& This soul made a song
That spoke of mistakes:

Discontent-

Desire-

Demons-

 Angels
-

&
Everything

Thereafter-

& It’s still

The longest song

Ever recorded-

If you listen closely
Late at night

You can hear it

While the other souls
Slip into the unconsciousness

& the song wakes
To become conscious of your

Soul-

It sounds of: Crickets -
Owls -
Bats -
Running water - The Wind Dancing
 Off of Things that Matter-

Till the last note kisses you

On the lips

& Your soul flees

While another skips

On into this Eternal Song-
