The Expense Spent On The Hype Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

The Expense Spent On The Hype

Even after all of the performances are done.
And the expense spent on the hype,
Leaves no one in the audience excited.
Or feeling their appetites have been satisfied.
The curtain on the stage will come down.
And the spotlight will be turned off.
As reviews the next day will be read.

Prescriptions will be filled.
And medications will be taken.
Even after all of the performances are done.
No one will be convinced,
Their reality lived has been truthfully represented.
Or the expense spent on the hype,
Will deliver to anyone a dividend.
