The Fight Poem by Jason Ozera

The Fight

Many have fallen in the battle against the great creature,
Most knowing not what they are starting.
They begin with a strong heart and steady arm,
But in the end fall, weakened and broken.
I am different, knowing the Creatures weakness,
It is a great weakness, only known by the great Sages of Lore.
Passed along on Wings of Truth,
The Creature is that of beauty and that of hideousness,
Portraying that of a Goddess, and that of a Demon.
Many have seen it as the Goddess,
And many have seen it as the Demon.
But none have seen its true form,
That of true Beauty.
Love is a ruthless beast,
And yet at the same time the sweetest thing to live.
Love is a provocative thing,
Calling men in, only to twist them, and turn them
It tests them, testing their will and strength of heart.
Provocative, and yet the most beautiful thing ever to happen.
If not for love, where would we be at in the world?
Answer me this, if you will,
If there were no love, how would the world turn?
What would become of the human race?
Love is the defining thing behind all life.
Without love, we are nothing but another being in the universe.
Falling prey to those of higher strength.
Love is what makes us all, and how we survive.
Though there are complications in love,
We must fight through and find that
Love is the greatest thing in our world.
