The Final Chapter Poem by Tahil Mirza

The Final Chapter

Rating: 4.5

don't hide behind those books,
Tell me why the papers are soft and moist,
Is it the unused part hurt her the most,
Or your tears, that are killling her from inside,
Some pages are lost,
Some has artworks of our love,
It never looked it was years ago,
The book smells the same even today,
Hope our relation had a stay,
Your favorite chapter still haunts me,
Remind me of the accident,
When we fell for the book on our knees,
Wish I could stitch what was torn,
Wish the night had a refreshing mourn,
Doodling through the book to shine,
You reached heart of mine,
Every pillow fight it has witnessed,
Every coffee it got spilled upon,
It tasted fine every passing day,
It always had the space besides to lay,
When we were apart,
had nothing to say,
Still you deny,
'this book doesn't belong to us,
The engraved words in it,
Holds no reality, its all fuss! '
The ink though faint,
But these weren't the promises we meant,
You concluded it calling a curse,
Contradicting every written syllable,
Every screaming verb, every scintillating verse,
But reading it retrieved me our first kiss,
Unfolding those moments were such a bliss,

Don't just hide your pain,
Behind those pale yellow cover back,
Just unload all the frustration you have,
Come back soon,
Come back to settle this once and for all,
To cut off the distance we have,
To the touch we both starve,
To open the gates of heaven,
And jump in my arms,
To give me something,
something to cherish,
Something to read,
Come back to let go off me,
From the final and last chapter....
