The Flag Speaks Out Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

The Flag Speaks Out

I am the United States Flag, the symbol of many things..
I am whatever you make me, nothing more, nothing less..
I am the promise of a Nation, a Mothers dream, a Child's desire..
I am your belief in your future, your hope, for your family..
I am the Flag of many races.. I am the sweat of a hard day's
labor, the thought of a brain, the pain of decision..
I am the Constitution, and the Statues, the Courts and the
Legislatures, the Voting Booth, and the Veterans, the street
sweeper, and the executive.. I am compelling reason, a new idea,
definition of purpose.. I am the Earth and the Sky and Sea..
I am wind and rain and sun.. I am the right work and own..
The right to play, and the right to Pray.. I'm whatever You
make me.. Nothing more, nothing less..
