The Fog Poem by G. Hollis Humberson

The Fog

Another pre-dawn morning
In the darkness I left
Many times over I have traveled
This familiar trek
But today would be different
I wasn't prepared, it came anyway
Thick, dense and angry
It swallowed me whole
With an impenetrable fury
It would not let me go
Under other circumstances
I would have conquered this beast
But this animal was mean
Unstopable it kept coming
Almost succumbing I hit the gas
Undauntingly I penetrated its soul
This fog was a formidable foe
A malevolent entity!
