THE GERM OF LIFE
What fools still lost believe absurd
And scoffers mock and slight
Salvation’s Seed is Heaven’s Word
God’s Son of perfect Light
We ought to plant what God would sow
Before we fall asleep
In spirit and truth allow to grow
Love’s promises to reap
Each promise is a living Seed
A germ of truth divine
The fruit of which is in our deed
Whilst growing in The Vine
So wisdom heeds The Fathers law
Whilst growing straight and sound
Steadily upward strong and sure
Steeped in hallowed ground
Commanded ere He rose above
Revealed on Cavalry’s Tree
Obedience is the fruit of love
A truthful heart gives free
Yet who’ll believe Heaven’s report
Accept God’s every word
Receive in truth all Jesus taught
And live by what they’ve heard
We need to practice what we preach
All Jesus died to give?
What through His rising now He’d teach
The living how to live
We now must teach the walking dead
Spread the word that lives
Feed the world the living bread
Which Heaven daily gives
