The Gift Of Love Poem by Doris Reed Tietz

The Gift Of Love

Rating: 3.5

You gave me a rose,
And I knew from that start
It was more than a rose,
It was part of your heart.
I baked you a cake,
And then you knew
It was frosted with love,
Our dreams would come true.
Through the years we held hands,
There were good days and bad.
Times we were happy.
Times we were sad.
We shared life's pain.
Our love pulled us through.
Our faith would remain
Until joy came anew.
Now we are old,
But our hearts are still young.
There are still roses and cake
And songs to be sung.
