The Girl In The Mirror Poem by Kiera R Lewis

The Girl In The Mirror

Rating: 5.0

I saw
the girl in the mirror today.
She told me
how she really felt.
She told me
how he made her melt.
She told me
about the trips they used to take
and all of the memories they used to make.
She made me realize
that love was a beautiful thing...
until her tone turned
and her words started to sting.

She told me
about the rejection
Everything
from the injection.
The girl in the mirror
started to cry.
She thought to herself
about how hard she had to try.
She wanted
to make everything better,
yet every night
her pillow got wetter.

Then, again,
her attitude changed
and her facial expressions
rearranged.
She told me
he was part of her past,
a part that just wasn't meant to last.
She told me
they decided to move on
that love boat had sailed and gone.
She was in search
of Mr. Remarkable instead of Mr. Right.
She told me
now she sees the light.

That girl in the mirror
became a woman today.
She made personal changes
in a drastic way.
