The God Poems - By The Heavens Poem by Russel Choudhury

The God Poems - By The Heavens

In the Name of He, who is the First.
In the Name of He, who is the Last,
He who has No beginning nor End.

By the unseen building blocks, which orbit each other,
By the mind that thinks, and by the heart that beats,
By the animals which hibernate in the winter, and by the animals which come out in the summer,
By the waves of the sea which move back and forth, and by the waves of the sea which rise to such heights,
By the moon which causes the tides, and by the moon that shines so bright,
By the sun which the planets orbit, and by the sun whose warmth reaches the coldest of places,
By the stars that twinkle in the sky, and by the stars which are really spheres of iron and gas,
By the universe as it turns, and by the universe as it expands,
By the heavens where the angels abide in, and by the heavens where all is known,
Will man continue to rebel against his Lord?
Assuredly their God has offered them a fair covenant.
For them to follow His Will on earth, in return to inherit an eternity of Paradise.
Is the Lord not merciful? Is He not just?
For the building blocks which orbit each other will disappear
For the mind that thinks and the heart that beats will disappear
For the animals which hibernate in the winter and come out in the summer will disappear,
For the moon which cause the tides and shines so bright will disappear
For the sun which the planets orbit and whose warmth reach the coldest places will disappear,
For the stars that twinkle in the sky and that are really spheres of iron and gas will disappear,
For the universe that turns and expands will disappear,
For the heavens where the angels abide in and where all is known will disappear
Nothing will be left, but the Lord God!
Will He then not bring it all back and judge? Assuredly the Lord will, on that Day man will not deny His God!
Is the Lord not merciful? Is He not just?
