The Goddess Of Echoes Poem by Wanda Swim Strunk

The Goddess Of Echoes

I trapped myself in things
The doing of my undoing
Unraveling
The ties I have had
Family ties
Work ties
Stomach tied in knots

I buried myself in things
The longing in my belonging
Unveiling
The lies I have told
Stupid lies
Hurtful lies
Half truths that lie within me

Sometimes I lie to let the false hood float about the air
But always confess a moment later
Silently to myself
I am the goddess of Echoes
